Like many young and talented student-athletes, David Gascon grew up with a desire to play at the elite level. Unfortunately injuries, an average 40-yard dash, and a suspect fastball eventually ended his collegiate career.
Even though David’s competitive juices continued to flow, he decided it was on to the next chapter of his life.
Naturally he made the smooth transition from athlete to broadcaster sales.
“It wasn’t the most conventional route an aspiring broadcaster would take, but it certainly prepared me for this journey,” David said.
David’s versatility has given him the opportunity to appear on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, Fox Sports West, Fox Sports San Diego, Spectrum TV, ESPN3, Fox Sports Radio, and various national and local platforms. A graduate of Northeastern University and San Diego State University, David launched his career as an anchor, producer, and technical director for XTRA Sports 1360 in San Diego. In a short period of time, he added Gameday Host for San Diego State Athletics and the San Diego Chargers to his assignments. “Working for the flagship station of the San Diego Chargers and San Diego State Aztecs was an absolute gift and because of that, I was able to work on my craft.”
Today, David still operates with the same relentless attitude that he had as a rookie. He has covered football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, water polo, track & field, and softball as a play-by-play broadcaster. Additionally, David can be heard on Fox Sports Radio and iHeart Radio as a national anchor.
